XIV Miguel Gil Moreno Journalism Prize
The Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation and Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, S.A. invite entries for the the XIV Miguel Gil Moreno Journalism Prize Competition in accordance with the following rules:
1. The competition is open to correspondents of any nationality in a personal capacity. However, all entries (whether in paper, audio, video or internet) must be in Spanish, either as originals in that language or translated into it.
2. The Miguel Gil Moreno Journalism Prize will be awarded to the entry that best meets the essential requirements of professional excellence and shares Miguel Gil ‘s spirit, his conception of the correspondent as a servant of society in order to report on the injustices and acts of solidarity correspondents come across in the course of theirs jobs.
3. Entrants —authors or media— shall send their work onky in electronic support to info@fundacionmiguelgilmoreno.com or to the Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation, calle Camelias, 23, bajos, 08024 Barcelona , Spain. Photographic materials (one or more images up to a maximum of ten, must be size 18 x 24 cm., jpg format), and accompanied by a cutting of the publication in which they appeared. Work in other media must include the name of the medium in which and the date on which it was published or broadcasted. All works must be accompanied by the author’s personal details and a brief CV. No work that has already won an award in another competition may be entered.
4. The works presented must have been published between January 1st 2017 and December 31st 2018 and must reach Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation, by March 31st 2018. Authors not being awarded will have one month, starting from the prize presentation, to pick up their works.
5. The Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation and Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, S.A. will appoint a jury comprising outstanding professionals in harmony with the spirit of this prize, as well as representatives of the Foundation and the publishing group. The jury’s decision shall be announced and the prize presented in may 2018, being mandatory the presence of the winner at the ceremony. The Miguel Gil Moreno Prize consists of 6,000 euros.
6. The Miguel Gil Moreno Foundation and Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial, S.A. will appoint a jury comprising outstanding professionals in harmony with the spirit of this prize, as well as representatives of the Foundation and the publishing group. The jury’s decision shall be announced and the prize presented in may 2014, being mandatory the presence of the winner at the ceremony. The Miguel Gil Moreno Prize consists of 6,000 euros.
